The owners had lived on the block for twelve years in a weatherboard that leaked when the wind came off the water. They wanted a house that took the view, hid the driveway and needed nothing from them for twenty years.
Off-form concrete does the structural and the visual work. The batten screen is fixed to a steel sub-frame so it can be replaced panel by panel, and the louvre wall on the west face is motorised and tracks the sun. Every internal finish was selected in week four and installed exactly as specified.
Handover was on the contract date. The defects list had six items. All six were closed within a fortnight.
